Millennium Ecosystem Assessment

March 14, 2010 · 0 comments

The state of ecosystem services across the globe are studied by using the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment which is a UN funded program. The program was launched in 2001 by the UN secretary General Kofi Annan. The reports generated through this assessment cover topics such as weather, land use, population, water use, forests, habitat status, fishing, coral reefs and atmospheric carbon and temperature. Ecosystem changes over the years are studied and then projected for the future. The reports act as a call to work harder to attain a sustainable future.
