Euro IV

January 20, 2010 · 0 comments

Euro IV is one of the emission norms that pertain to permissible levels of pollutants like carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrous oxides from petrol and diesel vehicles. These norms have been implemented in Europe and several countries use these norms as a base line to determine their permissible limits. All manufacturers are required to implement the same norm for vehicles that are produced from the date of implementation stipulated. The European Union emission standards apply to all new vehicles and these are set for all road vehicles, trains, barges and non road machinery like tractors. Current standards have to toe the Euro 5 line with Euro 6 slated to come into effect around 2014 / 2015.
