Earth Day is a day dedicated to appreciate and inspire appreciation for the Earth and her environment. The day is celebrated across several countries and in the United States, April 22 is the date.

The Northern hemisphere celebrates Earth Day in spring while it is in autumn that the southern hemisphere salutes the earth. The United Nations Earth Day is usually the 20th of March or March equinox.

Earth Day 2007 was one of the largest events with environmental groups around the globe activating approximately a billion people who participated in various activities across places such as Kiev, Caracas, Manila, Spain, London, New York and more.

The Earth Day Network promotes year long action on environmental citizenship across the globe. This international network reaches over 17,000 organisations in 174 nations to encourage environmental protection and community development on an ongoing basis.
