The folks at Earth 911 dream of a world where everyone actively practices the three R’s. Towards this goal, Earth 911 has an online directory that answers questions and assists in the process of each individuals green change over.
Individual users are required to register on the site. On offer are lists of recycling drop off centres in different zip codes, consolidated list of hotlines and websites, a 1-800 hotline that provides bilingual community specific environmental information, original posts and articles, list of earth friendly events in the U.S. and Canada for the year, expert advice for green living and material for students and teachers. They also have sub sites that deal with topics such as clean boating and clean beaches.
Earth 911 is endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Al Gore and Oprah Winfrey.
