Marcelo Coelho and Amit Zoran of MIT have invented a digital food printer named Cornucopia. While the actual term denotes a symbol of abundance and food dating to the 5th century, the MIT Cornucopia, is a 3 dimensional food factory that combines digital knowledge to create meals with no wastage. The printer concept device allows accuracy in storing, depositing, mixing and cooking various ingredients with canisters filled with the user’s preferences. The user may select elements such as calories and carbohydrates by clicking the surface of a translucent touch screen. The Cornucopia also offers precision heating or cooling through the printing head that allows incredible flavour and texture options.
